When he was still an infant we drove out from Ohio.

We had to make a stop near Seneca. I hope that's right. We had a major problem. Tommy was drinking a lot of apple juice. He refused to drink anything else. The doctor said it was fine and not to worry but to dilute it half and half with water so he didn't get too much sugar.

He was awake again and sucking on the bottle when I smelled it. Yep, the little stinker had filled his diaper with the foulest smelling one yet. We stopped and I cleaned him all up putting a fresh one on him. The car was in bad shape smell wise. Big Tom cleaned that up as best he could but we had to let it air out a bit anyway.

We stopped here at Lake Skaneateles. It was a bit windy but we needed wind about then.

He was always the most beautiful little baby.

I think that was the same place. We didn't stay long because a big storm was coming up.

These next ones are close to but not the same time.

I was driving another crappy car. I think I drove out alone with just me and the kid this time but I'm not sure. I did sometimes drive with just me and him because his father didn't want to go. He always said he couldn't get time off from work and he probably couldn't get much.

I was bringing Sue back to Ohio for the summer.

We were living at the house on State Street that we were renting. Sue stayed the summer so she was there when we bought the Mill Street house. It was really a relief to have her there to help me while we were moving from one house to another.

We stopped for a rest and he had to be on my lap, naturally.

Learning to drive?

I kept taking pics of him whenever we stopped. He was such a good little traveler but he began traveling when he was barely four months old and that was on two flights from Honolulu to LA to Newark and then a bus ride into the city. I'm not sure but I think we took a bus to Glens Falls from there. He was good at it.

Sue let him taste her cotton Candy. He liked it.

Somewhere I have a shot of him at this age burying his face in my chocolate soft ice cream cone. I think I still have it. I just need to get more organized.

I put these in the Argyle pages because they happened while Sue was living there and because we were traveling mostly in NY. I have more photos of Sue in Ohio that I will put in the Ohio section if and when I get that far. Oh, you know I will!

I think she came out twice but maybe I'm confused by these photos. I thought she was there when we were going to Township Park a lot to play in the water. I know she was there when he was little and we lived in the house on State street at the time we bought the other house. I don't know how Mom let her go that far but I'm glad she did.
