As you can see the old lady cactus is blooming and has been for about a month now.

Next to it is one dianthus I just bought and the only aloe I kept as well as the bulbs that came from the one Amaryllis that Boredy sent a before. It made babies. It even gave me seeds but I never planted them to see if I'd get more.

I gave Tina all of the rest of the Aloes. They got too big and were taking over. I would have needed about ten pots for the lot of them and I never use them anyway. The Aloe does bloom if it gets big enough.

This next is small Chrysanthemum I got around Thanksgiving. It was covered with small reddish gold blossoms.

It turned all brown and dead looking so I tried watering it and trimming off all the dead stuff. It bloomed again but then it started to look really dead.

I sat it near the open garage door to go out with the next trash day.

It rained in the meantime and suddenly the plant was alive again.

I really think the problem is the growing medium doesn't hold water well.

I stuck it in a place where I can soak it with water. It now has one of those saucer like things under it so the water may run straight trhrough it but it can suck water back up. It's got a whole new lease on life!

Thats a weed on the side or an herb or vegetable if you want to think of it that way. Its purslane and can be used in salads or steamed as a vegetable.
