I have no clue where that was taken. There weren't a lot of tall mountains on Oahu. It might be from New Zealand when Tom was there.

I took this one near where the poinsettia grew wild. This wasn't wild but in a botanical place.

Around Christmas time the first year we were there, Tom had to go out in the field with some other guys and cut tons of these branches. They decorated the mess halls with them.

I didn't take this one. Somebody gave it to me. I have no idea who the family is but the guy thought I might like it because of how high the poinsettia grew. He was right.

This is some kind of fern in the Botanical Garden.

There was a palm like plant there that was called a Traveler's Palm. It wasn't really a palm but something else from Madagascar. The sheaths of the stems hold rainwater, which supposedly could be used as an emergency drinking supply for needy travellers but it would need to be purified first. I bet not too many would have the time to do that if they were dying of thirst.

I cannot remember the names of these. The yellow one was handed to me one day on the bus by a total stranger.

I knew hibiscus. Also from the Botanical Garden
