Under-the-Sink Kahlua Recipe
Serves/Makes: 8
Ingredients:
4 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup instant coffee crystals
3 cups water
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups 80-proof vodka
3 tablespoons vanilla extract

Directions:
Combine sugar and coffee crystals in a 3- or 4-quart saucepan. Stir in water and salt. Over high heat, bring to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Reduce heat; boil gently 1 hour. If mixture boils too rapidly, volume will be decreased more than desirable and resulting syrup will be too thick.
Remove from heat. Stir in vodka, then vanilla. Cool. Pour into bottle or jar; close tightly.
