Poppy Seed Holiday Bread
3 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
2 1/2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons poppy seeds
1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
3 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1 1/3 cups oil
6 tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
2 tablespoons orange juice
2 tablespoons melted butter

Combine flour, salt, baking powder, 2 1/2 cups sugar, poppy seed, flavorings, eggs, milk and oil in mixer bowl. Beat at medium speed until mixed. Spoon into 2 greased and floured 5 x 9-inch loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/4 hours or until loaves test done. Brush hot loaves with mixture of 6 tablespoons sugar, 1/4 teaspoon almond extract, orange juice and butter.
