Chicken Uberraschung
2 Fryers; cut up Salt and pepper
1/2 c Butter
1 lg Yellow onion; thinly sliced
1 Green pepper; thinly sliced
1/2 ts Minced garlic
1 ts Salt
1/2 ts Pepper
1 tb Chopped parsley
1/2 ts Powdered thyme
1/2 ts Oregano
1 1/2 tb Curry powder
4 c Tomato juice
Hot cooked rice

Season chicken with salt and pepper. Brown in butter; remove to casserole. Add onion and pepper to butter remaining in pan; sauté until glossy. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over onions and peppers. Cook slowly 5 minutes.
Pour sauce over chicken and bake, covered, 1 hour at 350°. Serve with rice.
