The photo is not upside down,
That's the way bananas grow.
Someone once brought me a stem
of tiny wild bananas.
They had the best flavor and lasted a while
because they ripened a few at a time.
Bet you never thought
that many coconuts grew on a tree?
Fooled you! Coconuts don't grow on trees.
That's a shrub.
Here's another odd coconut fact.
Fresh young coconuts are cut open
and spread in the sun to dry.
They are so young
that the flesh is gooey like pudding.
As they dry they stink and harden.
The result is called copra
and was used in the old days to make buttons.
