At an early trip to Conneaut Lake Park Tommy got his first real horse ride. Maybe it was his only one because I'm thinking he wanted to ride on them in NY but the place had a sign saying the horses were out to lunch.

Tommy loved Halloween. We'd never been allowed as a kid to participate in trick or treating but Old Tom grew up doing that. They got me to dress up one year and go with them. I tried easily and went home but Tom and Tommy hung in there till it was all over and brought back a huge amount of stuff.

I think but I'm not sure they took it to Brown Memorial who offered to scan all trick or treat hauls to be sure there were no bad things in them. Tom said he knew all the places they went. I think some of them gave them extra stuff just cause they knew them.

I don't know what happened to that second picture. It appears that I burst into flame.

I took that at Turkey Creek. It was a place close to the shore of Lake Erie but not quite where the beach area was. Diane and I took the kids there. I think we may have just been going to look but they did fish there sometimes. I only went this once. That shot of Tommy is the only one I have and maybe the only one I took.

We had to hike through the woods a long ways. The mosquitoes were awful. I heard this roaring noise over my head and I had no idea what it was. It turned out to be a swarm of insects. We ran from that point on. I was scared later to go back that same way but we did and saw none of them and no mosquitoes either. It was just weird.

When we got to the water area there was a lot of dark and light gray mud. The mud was clay and would have been great if I had a potters wheel and a kiln and had the slightest idea what I was doing with it all but I didn't. I did take some clay in a bucket home with me. The kids probably played with it.
