The day they let me out of the boat and they continued on to the lake, they told me to meet them over by Township Park. They'd bring the boat in close and then haul it up on the beach. Ray could get his stepfather to haul it home in the truck.

Ray, Tom and Tommy with the ugly thing.

It was a giant catfish. I didn't know what the heck to do with this! Mom and Dad always got the smaller variety, the bullheads. They caught sunfish too. I didn't eat them then and I sure wasn't going to eat this thing.

There was no way I'd chop off that head and clean it either. Mom did all that stuff. I could do it if I was starving but I wasn't and I wouldn't touch the thing.

Tom cleaned it. He made two giant filets of it and told me to deep fat fry it. It was burned on the outside and gooey on the inside. I refused to eat it. They gobbled it up. Gross!

Another time he brought home Steelhead what ever that was and wanted me to cook that. I attempted it but it was a disaster. I could not cook fish. I stuck half of it in the freezer. It was probably still there years later when I left. It was either a salmon or a trout. He caught both of them and more of those catfish.

I think Jacque was with him when he caught the salmon. Jacque was married ton Diane. He was one of Doris's kids.

More fish they caught another day with Tommy along. He was so excited! He loved fishing with Dad.
